Here’s the lowdown on how amazing this kit is, the answers to some of your frequently asked questions and some details about each oil and how to use them!
First off these oils are so much more than little bottles that smell good!

How to safely use them:
Safety is important when it comes to using essential oils. It's easy to get overwhelmed with all of the information available, but using common sense and starting gradually will help ease any sort of intimidation you might feel as you begin using essential oils in your everyday life, on yourself and your family. Due to the fact that Young Living’s purity and grade of oils is so high, they should be used with wisdom.
If you are diffusing around children or applying oils topically you need to understand and research what oils are safe to be used around kids and what dilution ratios you need to use. There are a lot of great references out there that can help you with this.
Generally, once a child hits 10 years old they are able to process any oil an adult can. Prior to 10 there are oils that need to be used with caution, and dilution will be your best friend!
When storing essential oils, it’s important to keep them in a cool, dark place with lids tightly closed (and always out of reach of children). You’ll also want to keep carrier oils (like coconut, olive, vitamin e, sweet almond oil, v6 etc.) on hand for dilution. Always use and store EOs in glass containers, especially when drinking them in water, since most plastic products contain chemicals that can be broken down by the oil.
One of my favorite resources is an APP called “Reference Guide to Essential Oils”. It’s $6.99 one time fee and well worth it. It’s like an oils encyclopedia at your fingertips!
There are three ways to use Young Living Oils:
Topically, aromatically, internally.
+ TOPICALLY means to apply directly to the body. We always recommend you dilute your oils with a carrier oil (such as coconut oil or grapeseed oil) until you know how your body is going to react to the oils.
Some essential oils are “hot” oils, so you’ll always use a carrier oil with those particular oils (Thieves, PanAway, and Peppermint are all examples of hot oils that should be diluted.)
+ AROMATICALLY means to inhale the oils. When you get started with a Premium Starter Kit you’ll receive a diffuser. Diffusing your oils is the easiest way to use them, but you can also put a drop or two in your hands and cup them over your nose and mouth and breathe deeply. You could even put a few drops of essential oil on a cotton ball and stick it into the vents of your car!
+ INTERNALLY means to ingest them either in drink or food, or by filling a vegetable capsule. Not all oils are made to be ingested, so please refer to the label of each oil for proper usage instructions. NOTE: All “Vitality” oils are part of Young Living’s dietary oils line and are GRAS (Generally Regarded As Safe) and can be ingested if you choose to do so.

FAQ:
1. How long do 5ml bottles last? How many drops should you use to apply topically or diffuse?
-The 5ml bottles each have 85-100 drops
-the 15ml bottles each have 250-300 drops
-Each bottle comes with directions on the label with the correct amount of drops to use per application.
2. If I sign up, do I have to sell?
Absolutely not!
In fact the majority of our members in our community don't ever sell a thing. They get their kit, fall in love with their oils, take advantage of the 24% discount they get, but never sell a single thing! There's never any pressure to start a business with Young Living, but there is the opportunity and we make it as easy as possible for you to learn how to do so if you're interested!
3. Do they really work as well as everyone says?
Yes! I mean it when I say that my entire life has changed because of oils. I am healthier and living more toxin-free, and walking in better emotional health than ever before. I am so, so grateful.
4. I'm afraid I'll get oils and not use them.
I have learned a thing or two over the last couple years and I'm pumped to share my knowledge and to show you all the best resources. You will NOT end up with a kit in a box in a drawer somewhere… I won't allow it! I use them every single day, several times per day, and I bet your bottom dollar you will too.
5. Does it matter who I grab my kit from? Can't I just go to youngliving.com and grab it that way?
It actually DOES matter, and NO you shouldn't just go to YL's website and sign up that way! Something often times people don't realize when purchasing Young Living oils for the first time, is when you do so you are joining a "team" or “community”. Heck, I didn't even realize the importance of this when I signed up! Doing your research on who you are grabbing your kit from is SO very important! When you don't get someone's link to sign up with, you'll be placed under someone you don't know randomly. You'll want to make sure you sign up with someone you know and trust so that you have the support you need to further learn about oils & using them safely after your kit arrives. I am here to support you and your oily journey when you enroll with me!
6. Can I use them with my kids?
Yes! And I can answer any questions you have and provide resources too!
7. Is there a reason to go with Young Living over the other slew of brands out there?
ABSOLUTELY! Through all my research and experience, YL is the only brand I would trust to use on myself and share with friends and family. Now, let’s break down those oils I told you about!
LAVENDER
Lavender is considered “the swiss army knife” of all oils and you will likely find yourself reaching for it often. Just a drop will help soothe your skin, especially after those days of being out in the sun too long! A drop in a new tube of mascara can result in fuller, longer eyelashes, as well! How cool is that!?
Need seasonal support? Combine Lavender, Lemon, and Peppermint to support healthy respiratory function and help you enjoy the seasons with ease.
Lavender is very calming and I use it to support a good night's rest and relaxing environment. I love to combine it with Peace & Calming and Valor (which I’ll break down soon) for those nights where I need a little help falling and staying asleep.
LEMON VITALITY
This is another one that I use for everything!! You can use it for baking (hello yummy lemon cookies) as well as in your water to help your body flush out toxins and keep it healthy and well.
A drop or two of Lemon will also help you get sticky, hard to remove items or residue off of windows and other surfaces with ease.
I also clean with Lemon often! Talk about the entire house smelling wonderful. I love to add it to my DIY cleaning recipes and the Thieves Cleaner for an extra oomph!
Lemon is very cleansing for our bodies as you just learned, and sometimes we use this topically on problem areas on our skin, too! (Just be sure to use it at night as it is photosensitive)

PEPPERMINT VITALITY
This is one of the oils that I will never find myself without and is always in my purse for on-the-go support. Check out some ways I can use this one (there’s so many – are you seeing the theme here so far!?)
+ Supports proper digestive system - Take a few drops in a vegetable capsule with carrier oil to help support proper digestive function & promote healthy bowel function.
+ Helps with occasional nausea - Rub peppermint oil on your stomach (diluted), to help alleviate nausea, or in a capsule. You can also rub on the bottom of your feet for added support.
+ Suppress appetite - take a veggie capsule with 2 drops of peppermint & 4 drops of carrier oil to help suppress appetite.
+ I in baking - We LOVE to make peppermint brownies. We cheat and use a box of brownie mix, and add 2 drops to the batter. It adds a great taste. Pair it with mint ice cream and you're in heaven!
+ Helps with occasional feelings of fullness - You can rub it on your stomach to help alleviate feelings of fullness, or take in a veggie capsule to help as well.
+ Apply 2 drops of carrier oil & 2 drops of peppermint to temples & back of neck to aid in head tension relief.
+ Diffuse Peppermint to aid in taking deep, clear, breaths.
+ Diffuse to help promote focus and clarity. Perfect for any student!
+ Use in a refreshing massage - Peppermint provides support to the nervous system and supports proper joint & cartilage function. It also has a cooling sensation, perfect for any muscles that need relief!
+ When you don't even want to address the piles of laundry you have around the house, the dirty dishes in the sink, and the other 20+ items in your to-do list, just turn to peppermint! Put a couple drops into your diffuser and it will help kick your butt into gear.
VALOR
Our bravery oil!
Valor has a woodsy, grounding aroma that is great for massages and other topical and aromatic uses. Use it to greet each morning with a positive attitude or to refocus at the end of a challenging day.
This blend is by far one of my favorites!! And it is an incredible value in the premium starter kit!! It retails at $52.30 😱
+ Chills me out (which is why it’s amazing at bedtime)
+ Deals with all of the emotions (except resentment + Release is good for that)
+ Helps me focus and get rid of monkey mind
+ Gives me the "ooomph" I need to tackle new things
+ Gets me past my worries of new faces and places
+ Known as “chiropractor in a bottle” so I roll it on my back to keep me aligned (speaking of alignment – I love to use this oil during Reiki Healing)
CITRUS FRESH VITALITY
This blend combines Orange, Tangerine, Grapefruit, Lemon, and Mandarin essential oils with a hint of Spearmint to create a refreshing uplifting feeling!
Add a drop of this to your water to keep you excited about drinking your daily water intake so you can stay properly hydrated. Citrus Fresh Vitality can provide an internal boost with its antioxidant content (d-limonene – google that!). It can boost your immune system to help your immune system keep working in tip-top shape! It can be cleansing to your systems and help you with detoxing properly.
Citrus Fresh provides a clean, fresh scent for any environment and also purifies the air!

PANAWAY
Trust me when I say that this oil right here just might become your favorite!
It’s a perfect companion after a workout, or a lifesaver for those days that you’ve overexerted yourself physically. This blend of Wintergreen, Helichrysum, Clove, and Peppermint essential oils can be used in a massage to help ease muscle discomfort.
My favorite recipe to use PanAway for is a muscle rub!
--Ingredients--
• 8 drops PanAway
• 5 drops Peppermint
• 5 drops Valor
•1/2 Coconut Oil
• 4oz Mason Jar
--Directions--
1. Put Coconut Oil + EOs into glass bowl
2. Mix everything together & place in jar.
3. Apply the rub on your muscles after exercise.
DIGIZE VITALITY
DiGize Vitality is a blend of Ginger, Anise, Fennel, Peppermint, Tarragon, Lemongrass, Patchouli, and Juniper essential oils that was formulated to aid healthy digestion.
It’s rich unique aroma and taste can be calming and comforting. This oil is one that goes with me everywhere, especially when traveling! I don't want to be caught without it!! You can use it as a dietary supplement in veggie capsules to help support a healthy digestive system. I love to pair it with Peppermint Vitality for that extra boost in support!
RAVEN
Raven is a powerful blend of Ravintsara, Lemon, Wintergreen, Peppermint, and Eucalyptus Radiata. Raven is our favorite go-to EO for respiratory support for ages 6+. It helps support a healthy body temperature, and I love to make a soothing chest rub with Raven and a carrier oil!
If you want a little extra support in your chest rub, check out this recipe! I have used different variations of this concoction, but this is the one I will have on hand during the winter months.
3 tablespoons organic coconut oil
7 drops Raven
7 drops R.C.™
5 drops Thieves®
5 drops Eucalyptus Radiata
5 drops Peppermint
Combine and store in a glass container in a cool, dark place. Sometimes I store it in my refrigerator to keep it from melting.
Tip: Try diffusing it in a steamy bathroom or adding a drop to the corner of your shower!

STRESS AWAY
Stress Away is literally vacation in a bottle, and it does exactly what the name suggests!! It helps bring relief to everyday stresses we all can feel.
This blend of Copaiba, Lime, Vanilla, Cedarwood, Ocotea, and Lavender essential oils smells amazing and when diffused or applied topically provides a calming aroma and feeling.
If you or your kiddos need some calm in your life, I love diffusing it with Frankincense.
And if you want to pretend you’re on a beach getaway, combine it with Citrus Fresh in your diffuser!!
FRANKINCENSE
Frankincense is known as the “holy anointing oil” and is arguably one of the most recognizable essential oils due to its wide range of supportive properties.
It is honestly INCREDIBLE at supporting the skin. I roll it on my face "neat", which means without a carrier oil, at night and have never felt better about my skin. It’s so great to add to facial moisturizers.
I also love for diffusing during meditation or while journaling, it helps support focus and grounding of emotions.
Here are some more ways to use Frankincense:
+ Concentration - Rub 1-2 drops on the back of neck or diffuser to help improve concentration. Frankincense is one of my go-to "study oils!" Hear that, Teachers??
+ Moods - Diffuse 3-4 drops to uplift your mood.
+ Every Day Stress - Apply to the temples and wrists.
+ Skin - To support normal aging skin, apply to skin under daily moisturizer. I don't know about you, but I'm trying to push those fine lines off as long as I can...and at an average of $100 for those fancy anti-aging creams, I’d much rather just add something natural to my face cream.
+ Meditation - Where my yoga friends at?
+ Brittle Nails - Apply several times per week to nails and base of nails.
+ Sleep - Diffuse at night with Lavender for a restful night’s sleep.
THIEVES VITALITY
Thieves Vitality is one of Young Living’s most popular oil blends and has a spicy scent and flavor. Thieves was inspired by the legend of 4 thieves who formulated a combination of Clove, Rosemary, Cinnamon, Eucalyptus and Lemon they used while stealing from the dead during the plague.
Tested for its cleansing abilities, Thieves is highly effective in supporting the immune system & good health.
Thieves is an important ingredient in our home cleaning and personal care products, replacing harsh chemicals with pure, therapeutic-grade essential oils and other naturally derived ingredients.
I use Thieves daily to keep my immune system in tip-top shape, and I love making a soothing tea using honey, Thieves Vitality, Lemon Vitality, and warm water!
PEACE & CALMING
Peace & Calming - the name says it all!!
This oil encourages deep relaxation, and is incredible for supporting nighttime routines!
It is known for quieting and calming the mind, uplifting the mood, and smells incredible!
Add this oil to your diffuser for a comforting fresh aroma. This blend features tangerine, orange, ylang ylang, patchouli, and the coveted blue tansy.
You can use Peace & Calming for:
- nervous feelings
- keeping your attention span at a good level
- applying to your feet for a full body rest
